Raspberry Lime Homemade Kombucha is a healthy, refreshing, and delicious way to get your daily dose of probiotics. Flavored with fresh raspberries and lime juice with no added sugar so it’s Whole30 friendly, yet tastes like an indulgence!

Raspberry Lime Homemade Kombucha {Whole30} (1)Hallelujah for quick brewing kombucha! Iknew there must be something to love about summer.

I’m not a total summer grinch (debatable) but I do complain a whole lot when the humidity turns up and the temperatures rise into the 80s. But, I try to be a “glass-is-half-full” type of person (again, debatable) ANDwith a more-than-half-full glass of raspberry lime homemade kombucha, it’s a whole lot easier. See what I did there? OH YEAH.

Raspberry Lime Homemade Kombucha {Whole30} (2)I’m guessing some of you might have literally no clue what the who-ha I’m talking about. You see, kombucha is fermented sweet tea! It’s crazy delicious AND crazy good for you at the same time since it’s a fermented food. And, fermentation happens a lot faster in warm environments. You can totally purchase a heat strip for your brew, but, I’ve yet to do that and just waited patiently all winter for my brews to ferment.

But no longer! Now that the weather has warmed up the little “brewing station” in the corner of my kitchen is warm all the time, and so, I figured it’s time to experiment with some new flavors. First up – raspberry lime. (The second is currently in the works!)

Raspberry Lime Homemade Kombucha {Whole30} (3)Now, if you’re totally new to homemade kombucha, definitely check out my post on how to brew your ownat home. I’ve been making mine for over a year and a half and now have more SCOBYs than I know what to do with! Everyone has to start somewhere though, and if you’re ready, I highly recommend going with the Kombucha Kamp starter kit.

Although I have a huge amount of SCOBYs now, the original one from my starter kit is still alive and kickin’, so you know it’s a good one. The price is low and so completely worth it if you typically buy kombucha a couple of times per week. And trust me – you CAN make it taste as good as store bought – it’s all in the flavoring!

So let’s get started with this quick and easy recipe. It makes the preeetty-est homemade kombucha, in my opinion. The berries also give it more carbonation so it’s almost like soda 🙂 So, if you’re trying to get friends and family on the kombucha train with you, hide the SCOBYs (admit they can be scary) and whip out the raspberries! Okay, let’s go 🙂

Ingredients

  • 1gallongive or take a bit home brewed kombucha
  • 2/3cupfresh raspberriesroughly chopped
  • 1/4cupfresh squeezed lime juice
  • Extra fruit for garnish to serve

Instructions

  1. First, brew your kombucha to the desired tart/sweet balance. For me this is between 8-10 days depending on weather. Refer to my easy guide for brewing instructions.

  2. Once your kombucha is brewed, remove and set aside your SCOBYs.

  3. You can flavor and bottle the kombucha one of two ways - in individual bottles (what I did) or in a gallon container.

  4. If bottling, divide the raspberries and lime juice equally between 5 or 6 bottles, jars, or other glass containers, then transfer the brewed kombucha into each one using a funnel.

  5. If using one large container, put all ingredients at the bottom before transferring the kombucha and allowing it to ferment with the fruit and juice.

  6. Secure bottles/container tightly with a lid, and allow the bottled kombucha to ferment for 1-2 more days at room temperature before refrigerating and serving.

  7. Serve with extra fresh fruit for garnish and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Berries will make the kombucha significantly carbonated so leave a bit of room at the top, and be careful when opening!

You know I love the raspberry lime flavor. I am intrigued by kombucha. I like kevita which is like kombucha light, but I’ve always been hesitant to try kombucha because of my Crohn’s issues. But with the issues that I am currently having, I might talk to the docs and see what they say.

If you have Crohn’s, IBS or Candida problems, Kombucha is the best. I have been making and drinking Kefir and Kombucha for years now. After drinking Kefir for a couple days my Candida (yeast infection) was gone. This was after trying dozens of OTC products and prescriptions. My IBS is also gone and I can eat anything now. I have stopped making Kefir because it ferments so fast and I could not keep up with it and all those Kefir smoothies were starting to show on my waist. I love my Kombucha and it is so simple to make. I have to warn you to drink just a small amount the first time because this is a army going in and cleaning your gut, so you might feel a little dizzy or rumbling in your tummy if you drink a lot right away. Then after a few days you can drink as much as you want. You will have so much fun making different flavors. I always put fresh chopped ginger in mine with some fruit or what ever you want. Just DO NOT use flavored teas for your first ferment.

Girl, I am thriving! This weather is my jam! It’s just not “pleasant in any of the cars we own…NONE of them have AC :O
BUT….I’d much rather sweat and overheat than freeze any day!

on a totally different topic–I see you use Carrington Farms coconut oil(obv unrefined, extra virgin, bla, bla, bla). Is that a good one? Any recommendations? I need to use it for health reasons and you would be my go-to for info like this?

I love kombucha, but you already know how I feel about brewing it myself 😛 I buy a lot of GT’s (grape is my favourite), but I wish it wasn’t so expensive! And I know that just means I should brew it myself. IT’s a vicious circle.

Love brewing my Kombucha at home – I never need to buy any from the store now… And I think my own tastes better anyway 😉
This looks like a good flavour combo. I have done raspberry but not with lime, will have to give it a go! It’s winter here in Australia and it’s such a bummer now that I have to wait longer for my booch to brew!

This looks soooooooo good! I really need to try my hand at brewing my own kombucha as it’s even more ridiculously expensive in Australia than it is in the US as people haven’t quite caught onto how great it is!

Lmao I’m here because I left some sliced lime and lime juice with a handful of raspberries in a sealed Voss glass full of water for two weeks. Luckily I’d taken a few drinks of it the day I made it because it bubbled up the first time I opened it. Looked and smelled so good so I tried it and it tasted way to similar. I even added some agave for a bit sweeter tastes
